Course registration

How do I register for a course?

1.) Enrol at your university (Admission Office - Studienabteilung) at the beginning of your studies. Each semester you have to enrol again at your university for the current semester.

2.) First-time applicants will get a payment form for the course fee from the Admission Office. Students enrolling for the continuation of their studies will receive the payment form in their courses.

3.) Pay the course fee (this is only possible with the original payment form!)
The course fee for VWU courses is 412 euros.

4.) Then register for a course at the office of the VWU during the registration period (September and February):
Sechshauserstraße 33A, A-1150 Wien.
Mon. - Thu.: 8:00 – 13:30, Fri.: 8:00 – 12:00

ATTENTION
There is only a limited number of places for students at the VWU.

You can attend a GERMAN LANGUAGE COURSE at the VWU for a maximum of 2 semesters only.

If you cannot be admitted by the VWU because of a lack of places, you can attend semester German courses (“pre-VWU courses”) here:

- Austrian Association for the Middle East (Österreichische Orientgesellschaft Hammer-Purgstall - ÖOG). Dominikanerbastei 6, 1010 Wien, Tel. 512 89 36.

- Innovation Centre of the University of Vienna (Vienna International University Courses - WIHOK). University Campus Alser Straße 4, 1st courtyard, 1090 Wien, Tel. 4277 24101.

All supplementary examinations of German take place at the VWU.

Students with sufficient knowledge of German who have to prepare for supplementary examinations other than German will be admitted at the VWU if possible.

Enrolment at the VWU for the Wintersemester 2010/11
For students of the UNI Wien, TU, WU, MedUni, BOKU, VETMED:
Tue. 14/9/2010 to Tue. 28/9/2010

To enrol at the VWU you need
- confirmation of admission / admission letter
- student identity card / matriculation number
- receipt confirming payment of the course fee (stamped by the university)

ATTENTION: You have to renew your enrolment each semester!

You have to sit a PLACEMENT TEST – you will be told the test dates when registering for a course.

Please bring along
- Confirmation of having enrolled for semester courses at the

ÖOG/Innovationszentrum for two semesters
- student identity card
- confirmation of admission (admission letter) of the university
- relevant page of the record of studies (Studienbuch)
